Upgrades

Baron’s upgrade program allows customers to retrofit legacy radar systems with new, state-of-the-art components. These upgraded systems can deliver all the capability of new turn-key systems, at a fraction of the cost.

• Dual-Polarization
  Conventional Doppler radars transmit a horizontal beam. Polarimetric radars also transmit a vertical beam, producing a more accurate imagery of precipitation type and amount.

• New Processor/Controller
  The advanced Doppler processor employed in Baron radars delivers enhanced detail and resolution.

• Solid-State Modulator
  The modulators employed in Baron radar systems are designed for stable, long-term use and require no maintenance.

• Complete R/T Unit (Receiver/Transmitter)
  Baron solid-state transmitters deliver more power and reliability than older systems. The accompanying receiver upgrade makes allows improved detection of light rain and winter precipitation.

• New Pedestal
  Long-lasting and easy to maintain, Baron’s radar pedestals provide a new radar sweep up to six times a minute.

• New Radome or Tower
  Baron provides complete site surveys and customized tower designs. Additionally, low-loss, rain-shedding radomes permit clean signal transmission for maximum radar accuracy.
