Air Surveillance

Baron's WXASR is the new generation of Multi-Mode Digital Doppler Radar Systems designed for Weather Surveillance and Air traffic Surveillance.

The system employs a common digital radar instrument with either a 350kW or 1MW radar transmitter. A common pedestal is employed to operate two antennas that switch between Weather and Air Search modes. The digital receiver employs special clutter rejection techniques that completely remove clutter and rain in the Air Search mode, and displays only precipitation in the Weather mode.
