The Millennium package is a powerful severe weather tool. It brings a powerful suite of new capabilities to your weather center, granting you a far greater timeliness and specificity than what has previously been possible. It does so through the localized power of VIPIR and FasTrac, as well as the sophisticated analytical abilities of COBRA™.
How Millennium Works
COBRA consists of patented storm tracking algorithms that generate highly accurate SCIT (Storm Cell Identification and Tracking) indicators. It is this life-saving technology that is at work in Millennium. Baron-processed SCIT’s automatically pinpoint the most intense areas of a storm, and can be used to create storm tracks with estimated times of arrival for local communities.
SCIT’s also provide a wealth of information on storm attributes, and possess a timeliness and accuracy that are far superior to other systems—updating every 2.5 minutes. That's up to 5 minutes faster than other SCIT's.
In FasTrac, Millennium automatically highlights counties under NWS warning, with color-coded counties in the warning display, and it can display current conditions in both systems.
