Level III, or NIDS, was for years considered to be the standard data format for the NEXRAD program. It consists of 16 color levels for reflectivity and velocity, as well as 4 tilt levels for each.

Using Baron's FasTrac or VIPIR system, you can interact with Level III data on-the-fly, receiving valuable attribute information derived from NIDS, as well as value-added enhancements that Baron adds to Level III data, like Severe Weather Module and Snow Machine.

Baron Services also provides exclusive products to our Level III clients for more accurate on-air displays and evaluation including corrected storm relative and mean velocity products.
