The World Marine data package leverages Baron’s longstanding heritage of meteorological integrity to deliver a suite of interactive weather and sea-state data products to your vessel, including global lightning, rainfall rate, wave conditions, sea surface temperatures and much more.

The World Marine data package includes:

Worldwide Lightning

worldwide lightningBaron QuikLink is the first to provide truly global lightning coverage, accurate and with no gaps in data. Accurate monitoring of lightning strikes delivers early detection and tracking of severe weather, outperforming all other long-range lightning detection systems.

Rainfall Rate over the next 3 hours

rainfall rate over the next 3 hoursDon’t let rain spoil your time in the sun. Our rainfall rate data works outside the range of coastal radar stations, using sophisticated modeling techniques to deliver accurate projections of global rainfall amounts

Sea Surface Data
sea surface data
  • Sea Surface Temperatures
  • Surface Pressure (Current and 12/24/36-Hour Forecast)
  • Surface Wind Direction and Speed (Current and 12/24/36-Hour Forecast)

Use these data products to accurately anticipate sea conditions up to 36 hours in advance, and plan your course accordingly.

Wave Data

wave data

  • Wave Height (Current and 12/24/36-Hour Forecast)
  • Wave Period (Current and 12/24/36-Hour Forecast)
  • Wave Direction (Current and 12/24/36-Hour Forecast)

Our World Marine data package provides comprehensive wave information for enhanced situational awareness on the water. 36-hour forecast data, viewable in 12-hour increments, lets you know what to expect in the hours and days ahead.

Satellite Imagery

satellite imageryLocate cloudy skies around the world, 24/7. Satellite imagery is particularly helpful used in conjunction with global lightning and rainfall rate data for a better idea of precipitation occurring offshore. And because it’s taken in infrared, the imagery also works at night.

Buoy and Surface Observations

bouy and surface observationsProviding information on water temperature, wave heights and more, buoy observations detail localized conditions reported by individual buoys. Displayed simultaneously with buoys in the Baron WxWorx software, airport weather observations provide reported conditions around the world.

Visibility (Current and 12/24/36-Hour Forecast)

visible currentThis data product identifies any areas with less than 12 miles of visibility, so you can be better prepared for the waters ahead.

Marine Zone Forecasts

marine zone forecastsCoastal offshore, high seas and Canadian marine forecasts provide detailed textual information on expected sea conditions.

Winds Aloft Direction and Speed

winds aloft direction and speedIdeal for sailors, this data product graphically depicts the direction and speed of wind currents from the surface to 42,000 feet in altitude.

Weather Maps (Current and 12/24/36/48-Hour Forecast)

weather mapsSee the location and forecasted movement of pressure systems and fronts, providing foresight into weather patterns in the western Atlantic and eastern Pacific oceans.

Radar

radarRadar data from the U.S. National Weather Service and Environment Canada depicts rainfall intensity along coastal areas of the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), plus Canada and Puerto Rico, allowing you to make more informed navigational decisions by seeing the big picture all at once.

Tropical Storm and Hurricane Information

Hurricane tracks for the Atlantic and Pacific basins project the strength and direction of tropical events, and provide detailed information on the storms.

Echo Tops

Get a better understanding of storm cloud height; the higher the storm, the more intense it may be. Echo tops data can be viewed in 3,000-foot increments, allowing you to see exactly how high the storm clouds are. Available along the U.S. coastline, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus Puerto Rico.

City Forecasts

rainfall rate over the next 3 hoursGet extended daily forecasts for cities around the world.

Sea Ice

rainfall rate over the next 3 hoursShows the percentage of ice coverage over affected ocean regions.

Chlorophyll

rainfall rate over the next 3 hoursA graphical representation of the amount of chlorophyll contained within water bodies. Indicates the concentration of plankton within the water, allowing the user to better target desired species of fish.

Ocean Currents

This data product depicts the direction of ocean water movement, allowing for more efficient navigation with less fuel consumption. Ocean current data is additionally useful for fishing applications.
