Robert O. Baron
President, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Robert Baron, the founder of Baron Services, started the company after 22 years of broadcast meteorology experience. Mr. Baron received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and concluded additional studies at Pennsylvania State University and The University of Alabama in Huntsville. He has been a long-standing member of the American Meteorological Society and in 1982 received the American Meteorological Society seal of approval for television. In 1996 his peers recognized Mr. Baron as the small business executive of the year, and in 2004 he was a finalist in Inc. Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year award. Mr. Baron was honored by the National Weather Association with a Special Achievement Award in November, 2006.
John W. Wessinger
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. John Wessinger began his career at Ernst & Young LLP where he rose to the position of Senior Manager over a ten-year period. He then worked with a public company as the Director of New Business Development. In this role he traveled extensively internationally forming, buying and selling operating units of the company. He joined Baron as Chief Operating Officer in June 2000.
Bob Baron Jr.
Chief Products Officer
Mr. Robert Baron Jr. joined Baron Services in 1992 after graduating from the University of Florida's Fisher School of Accounting with a Master's degree in accounting with a specialization in Tax. Mr. Baron Jr. oversees the Marketing, Sales, and Technical departments for Baron Services and Baron Radar to ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality. In addition, he is responsible for developing new strategic directions for the company, as well as investigating future business opportunities.
Bill Walker
Vice President, Radar Division
Mr. Walker joined Baron Services in 2004, after serving as the Director of Engineering for Signal Technology Corporation. He is responsible for the Doppler Weather Radar Systems product line, including research and development, production, manufacturing, installation and customer service. Mr. Walker's experience includes the design of coherent and non-coherent radar systems employing Magnetrons, Klystrons and Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) transmitters. With this experience, Baron's technical posture is now structured to meet our customers' most demanding radar systems requirements.
Rick Braswell
Director of International Business Development
Mr. Braswell joined Baron Services in 2004 and is responsible for the international business development of Baron's Doppler radar and image display systems. Formerly an International Business Development Executive with The Republic Group, Mr. Braswell managed international activities for Upper Air Sounding, Wind Profilers and Infrared (IR) Doppler radar product lines. After graduating from the University of Alabama (BSEE), Mr. Braswell served as a founding member and President of Enterprise Electronics Corporation (EEC).
Tom Thompson
Executive Vice President, Software Development
Mr. Thompson has over 25 years of experience in the computer software and radar hardware industry. His strong experience in hardware interfacing, networking, communications and hardware design at the system level keeps Baron Services on the cutting edge of new weather technologies. He also has substantial experience in a wide variety of programming languages and development platforms and has designed and programmed at both kernel and application levels. As Executive Vice President of Development for Baron Services, he is responsible for directing the development process for all new product implementations.
Bob Imhoff
President and Chief Operating Officer, Baron Advanced Meteorological Systems (BAMS)
Mr. Imhoff has over 32 years of experience with measurement and modeling and forecasting of meteorology, hydrology, and air pollutants.. He joined the Environmental Modeling Center, which later became Baron Advanced Meteorological Systems, in 2001. Mr. Imhoff has coauthored 15 peer-reviewed publications and is an expert in directing teams to set up, run, and interpret the results of numerous atmospheric models. As President of BAMS he determines the overall direction of BAMS and works to acquire new BAMS customers through business and government outreach.
Bill Barnes
Vice President of Operations
Mr. Barnes came to Baron Services from Sanmina-SCI in Huntsville, Ala., where he was Global Trainer/Auditor for Materials Processing. Joining Baron in 2003, he is responsible for operations/IT, production, mapping, materials and facilities, where he uses expertise developed over 16 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing to streamline company operations.
Mr. Bob Dreisewerd
Vice President and Director of Forecast Services
Mr. Dreisewerd joined Baron Services in 2006. His primary responsibilities include enhancing Baron's weather operations center, and leading the customer support and weather forecast teams. Mr. Dreisewerd previously served 11 years as Weather Services Manager for Surface Systems, Inc., a Quixote company, where he managed the entire weather division, including overseeing forecast operations, guiding new development, and ensuring customer satisfaction. He was later promoted to Director of Operations for Quixote Transportation Technologies where he was responsible for the customer service and manufacturing for three separate operating companies. Today, with the expertise of Mr. Dreisewerd guiding future forecasting developments, Baron Services is well-positioned to expand its role as the only provider of complete weather solutions.
Renee Gould
Vice President of Finance
Ms. Gould is responsible for all functions of accounting and personnel, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and human resources. Before joining Baron Services in 1999, she served at Morrow Realty as an area resource manager, where she received several awards for Best Financial Management and Top Achiever. She also has worked as senior accountant and corporate treasurer for RJW Manufacturing.
Kim Grantham
Vice President of Marketing
Ms. Grantham's responsibilities center around marketing and advertisement activities for all of the Baron companies. These activities include advertising, trade shows, training conferences and the overall shaping of a strategic message. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, she worked as Director of Marketing for Intergraph Corporation before joining Baron in 1995. In 2005, Ms. Grantham's marketing team won a Tennessee Valley Advertising Federation award for that year's NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) booth design, followed in 2006 by several awards from Graphic Design USA.
Alan Hislop
Vice President of Broadcast Sales
Mr. Hislop joined Baron Services in September 2006. He is responsible for managing the team for all broadcast and radar sales, as well as developing and implementing sales initiatives. Previous to Baron Services, Mr. Hislop managed global strategic accounts for the world's number one broad-based semiconductor manufacturer. He has over 17 years of experience in technology sales disciplines relating to diverse markets. Mr. Hislop is a graduate of the Army Officer Infantry School at Fort Benning, Ga., and served over 13 years in the Army and Army Reserves. He holds degrees in Electrical and Optical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, as well as a degree in Applied Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the State University of New York.
