As the division of Baron Services responsible for the development and manufacture of advanced Doppler radar, Baron Radar Services designs a wide array of operational and scientific radar along with integrated solutions. Baron Radar is strongly positioned for success under the direction of two major industry names. Mr. Bill Walker, former Director of Engineering at Signal Technology Corporation, and Mr. Rick Braswell, former President of Enterprise Electronics Company. Mr. Walker serves as Director of Baron Radar Services, and Mr. Braswell directs an international sales effort that has added Paraguay and Taiwan to our client family.

Our Doppler radar offers the most accuracy, the most power, the fastest scans, and the highest data resolution possible. Baron Radar Services also offers state-the-art upgrade solutions that will make older Doppler radar look brand-new.

Focusing on the government, international and broadcast television markets Baron Radar Services offers customized, multi-purpose radar systems with unequaled meteorological sophistication.

Advanced Modeling
Baron Advanced Meteorological Systems (BAMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Baron Services, produces advanced forecasting products for use abroad, in academia and government, as well as integration into the Baron broadcast products. Originally a portion of the Environmental Modeling Center in Asheville, NC, BAMS is charged with next-generation atmospheric modeling.

BAMS’ mission is simple - to build better forecast products for numerous domestic and international government clients. BAMS has been chosen to develop the world’s leading flood forecast models, in conjunction with Lockheed Martin and Harris, for Romania. As an extension of that project, BAMS announced its participation in DESWAT, a project undertaken with Boeing to bring advanced flood modeling to Romania. BAMS technology also serves the revolutionary Multi-scale Air Quality Simulation Platform and Project WRF.

BAMS leads in forecasting so that all of our clients can lead in forecasting. With BAMS leading the way, our broadcast clients have been the first in the country to show viewers Level II Live NEXRAD, Rapid-Scan Satellite, hyper-accurate precipitation totals, and other cutting edge data services.

Mobile Weather
WxWorx, a Baron Services affiliate, represents a groundbreaking partnership with XM Radio for mobile weather to the ground, marine and aviation markets. WxWorx is the exclusive weather data provider for XM WX Satellite Weather – the choice of aviation giants such as Rockwell Collins, Avidyne and Garmin to provide real-time weather data to pilots in the air. In 2005, a large majority of general aviation aircraft will have XM WX Satellite Weather either as standard equipment or as a standard option.

XM WX Satellite Weather was Aviation Consumer’s 2004 Product of The Year. Mobile Threat Net, Baron Services’ ground display of the XM WX service, won the 2005 National Storm Chasers’ Conference Product of the Year.
